WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR//

 

A leading digital media agency are looking for a Senior Commercial Relationships Manager to grow and develop their relationships with leading sports teams and athletes. You’ll be commercially astute and with a strong grasp of how digital content can drive commercial outcomes. Building strong relationships with some of the world’s largest sports teams, with a particular focus on football, you’ll be comfortable working with C-level contacts within media and commercial departments within sport.

This is an exciting and fast-paced role, with extensive travel, developing relationships with the biggest and most exciting sports organisations and brands in sport.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING//

 

This newly created role will bridge the gap between our client’s commercial sales team (the people in the business who are tasked with securing branded content deals) and the content delivery team.

Once on board, you will be tasked with growing and developing relationships with top sports clubs, leagues and federations around the world. This role will be pivotal to maintaining relationships with sports clubs and ensuring they are happy with the service they are receiving from the network.

Alongside building relationships with clubs, you will also be responsible for developing relationships with brands who may be interested in leading sports content and getting access to the millions of sports fans around the world.

 

THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU NEED//

 

  • An encyclopaedic knowledge of sport (particularly football)
  • Experience of sponsorship activation (either rights holder, agency or brand side) in the sports industry.
  • An understanding and knowledge of sports content and how social media platforms work.
  • Although this isn’t a frontline sales position, you need to be able to handle negotiations and be commercially astute. This includes having presentation and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to network, build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • You need to have an understanding of digital performance marketing.
  • You will also be a natural problem solver and have the ability to think on your feet.
