Are you a proven leader with a strong track record in sales and negotiation and excellent knowledge of the broadcast industry (in particular OTT / live streaming)? Then our client, a driven and fast-paced global sports media broadcasting company, would like to hear from you.
A progressive business where everyone is passionate about what they do, they recently announced a comprehensive strategic agreement that will see them marketing television and digital rights globally. A significant part of this agreement will involve marketing a digital subscription product in over 100 countries outside of USA and Europe, including Brazil, Mexico, Japan and Australia – this is where you’ll come in.
As Managing Director of their innovative video distribution platform, your role will involve setting the overall direction, vision and strategy by identifying key markets and establishing, driving and widening their portfolio of clients. Overall accountability for achieving sales quota and assigned strategic objectives will also be down to you. And when it comes to leading a team of SVPs and Account Managers to drive growth across this platform and take advantage of new untapped markets, again, my client will be counting on you to deliver.
The candidate will have a strong track record in sales and negotiation
Exceptional relationship skills with the ability to discover the true requirements and underlying feature requests, recommend alternative approaches, and lead efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
Proven leader with experience of leading a sector strategy and engaging partners directly.
The candidate will have good a good knowledge of the current broadcasting industry as a whole, but with particular experience in the move to IP and the OTT sector.
Demonstrated ability to grasp and discuss technical concepts, trade-offs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees and partners.
The candidate will have excellent working knowledge of the OU contribution & distribution business, with particular emphasis on the transition to IP fibre and over-the-internet methods of content transport.
Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively with multiple teams and external organizations.
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior executives.
Ability to manage budget and P&L
Relevant industry experience
Experience working within the local cable, ISP, consumer electronics, mobile, and or media industries is highly desired.
Global knowledge of the sports landscape would be preferable but not essential
Existing relationships with broadcasters across multiple territories
