Live Event Transportation Manager


£30,000 - £35,000

Our client, a sporting organisation based in Dundee who put on and hosts a huge number of live events across multiple sites in the UK are looking to bring in a new Live Events Transportation Manager, who will be fully responsible for planning and delivering the logistics operation around a number of high-profile sporting events.

Key responsibilities in this role:

  • Work with local authorities, the Police and all other agencies to devise and manage a transport plan for live events
  • Creating a logistical plan for the build and de-rig of the event which involves a site reporting office, routing to the course and a logistical team to manage the process
  • Search, view and review potential car park sites and secure land rentals
  • Appoint outsourced agencies to help with build, delivery and de-rig of infrastructure
  • Understand the legal and time process of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders to be implemented for the event
  • Liaise with the team on how the transport interacts with the venue itself by looking at the spectator experience as well as how people access and egress the event
  • Work closely with the public transport services to establish a great support network around the events
  • Work with private suppliers in securing a helipad operation
  • Liaise with local suppliers for managing the restitution of land use for the event that may be private or publicly owned
  • Work with relevant teams and authorities in creating a communication place for local residents
  • Working with existing and new suppliers in providing both vehicle and pedestrian bridges for the event including the logistical build and de-rig
  • To work with the relevant team and suppliers reviewing and improving new roads and pathways to be implemented on a permanent or temporary basis
  • Plan and work with the accommodation partner to create the Accommodation Village involving securing land as well as reviewing how this interacts with the main transport plan considering the effects on the local community
  • Be part of the contingency group for the event and support this from a transportation aspect

Experience required:

  • Experience of working within transport operations on a large scale event
  • Strong project management experience with the ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Not a pre-requisite but the ability to produce maps in CAD form
  • Proven budget management experience
  • A degree level qualification in a relevant subject (desirable)
