Purpose of the Role:

To create an engaging and effective corporate communication and marketing strategy for the club using a comprehensive branding, marketing, corporate communications and public relations programme that will firmly establish The Rangers Football Club within the market place and drive long term profitability.

As a member of the Executive team, you will report directly to the Managing Director. You will be responsible for the creation and communication of the vision and strategy for your area. You will ensure that your direct reports and teams are fully aware of the overarching strategy and that their individual and team objectives feed into this.


Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for establishing the Club's corporate communications and marketing strategy.

This role will be split across a number of key areas including digital media, public relations, press, supporter engagement, customer growth strategy and the creation & execution of a multi-channel marketing strategy.

  • To lead the strategic development and management of the club's corporate communication and marketing initiatives.
  • To encourage and influence sponsor activation and collaboration to support the marketing and promotion of the Rangers brand to a broader customer base.
  • To oversee the management of brand delivery and consistency across the club's marketing and advertising streams.
  • To enhance our revenue streams by creating and executing strategies for online retail sales.
  • To establish and drive an internal and external communications strategy that positively affects employees, supporters and customers understanding, engagement and commitment.
  • To provide regular guidance to the Board on the corporate communication strategy of the club, including crisis advice and ways to protect and enhance the reputation and brand of The Rangers Football Club
  • To develop respectful and productive working relationships with all key influencers such as Press contacts and government representatives.
  • To Create and oversee the maintenance of an up-to-date corporate communications calendar.
  • To ensure the alignment of internal & external communications
  • Oversee the Press and Digital Media Departments and ensure that relevant corporate communications and marketing strategies are fed into content planning, production and delivery

Personal Specification

  • Proven and sound experience in Communications and Marketing Management
  • Excellent understanding of Communication/PR/Marketing management.
  • In-depth knowledge of effective communication strategies.
  • Excellent understanding of digital media
  • Trustworthy with an ability to conduct yourself with professionalism and integrity at all times.
  • Ability to develop respectful and productive working relationships with all relevant stakeholders
  • Able to influence the media agenda.
  • Engaging personality

Due to the nature of the position and the business, you may be required to work evenings and weekends and flexibility around this is a must.
