WHO THEY ARE & WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR//

We’re working with Crystal Palace to recruit a Content Editor to join their marketing department. Responsible for delivering high quality, accurate and engaging written editorial news & features for the club website and matchday programme.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING//

In your role as Content Editor you will drive ambition for the club’s digital platforms and publications to be a fans first port of call to consume content about Palace and encourage new fans to the club.

Producing interesting, engaging and innovative content about the club will be your day to day task; alongside briefing photographers and designers to ensure high impact creative visuals to go alongside your written content on the club website, programme and marketing materials.

You will be constantly seeking to grow the reach of the club website through your engaging content, expanding the breadth of subjects covered to appeal to all fans of the club. Looking at the content analytically you will evaluate its performance, forming your future strategy on which content to create and where to place it. Through your written content you will need to ensure it resonates with the audience and remains true to the culture and values that Crystal Palace hold.

As Content Editor will work closely with the Head of Content & Production, video production and social media teams to set the day's content agenda, and help drive the various club & partner initiatives, campaigns and priorities.

You will be used to producing various types of content, often interviewing players, staff and senior management, writing match reports and covering club events and initiatives.

 

THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU NEED//

  • Excellent communications skills
  • Experience as a sports journalist working in digital media, editorial output and analytics is essential
  • Deep understanding of the consumption of sports content and football fans
  • Track record of creative impactful features
  • Exceptional knowledge of Premier League Football
  • Must have experience of using Content Management Systems and proficiency in Photoshop
