Charity & Fundraising Manager – Leicester - Sport

We’re actively seeking an exceptional individual to become Charity & Fundraising Manager for a significant and forward thinking Leicester based sports charity.

A permanent position, the successful candidate will be tasked with managing the charity, fundraising activities, key events and to further develop the growth strategy.

The Charity raises money for a range of local causes and you’ll be experienced working within a charity / fund raising environment and able to see and develop key opportunities. You’ll work closely with external partners to deliver excellent communications, fundraising tools, high profile supporters, media coverage and other awareness raising and income generating activities.

The position will be instrumental in maintaining and diversifying an already strong funding base, leading pitching opportunities and developing proposals, whilst also managing the relationship between the charity and stakeholders.

 Duties will include:

  • To develop a short to long term strategy for the charity

  • To manage fund allocation with partner charities

  • To actively promote and raise awareness of all charity activities and events

  • Responsibility for the key project deliverables

  • Day-to-day responsibility and accountability for the coordination of all project work-streams

  • Manage a delivery group for projects and work with external partners

  • Ensure terms of contract are adhered to and that activities take place within the framework of relevant legislation

  • Manage fundraising events

     

Key experience

  • You must have fantastic communication and influence skills and the ability to get buy-in from a range of partners - convey complex ideas clearly and with impact, using a variety of methods to engage an audience and win understanding and support

  • Build and develop key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure targets are met

  • Budget management and control experience

  • Event management

  • Results focused & inspiring great teamwork

  • Manage conflicting priorities to ensure that objectives are achieved and deadlines are met

  • Experience in the structured management of complex, cross-organisational projects

  • Experience of working in a fundraising team to generate income from customers and businesses

  • Understanding of charity fundraising regulations and Data Protection Legislation
