A SPONSORSHIP SALES MANAGER
TO DRIVE BIG DEALS OVER THE LINE

The Scarlets, off the back of on field success, wanted to grow their commercial operations and bring sales back in house, with several key appointments. This would help the club to extend their reach and engagement on a local, national and international scale.

THE VACANCY

The club asked The Executives In Sport Group to identify and attract a Sponsorship Sales Manager, who could look to build strong links in the local community, and focus on advertising, hospitality and match day sales. The individual would need a strong background in business development and the ability to negotiate end to end contracts.

THE PERSON

  • Finding people who match The Scarlets ethos & culture
  • ŸThe need to make a quick appointment for the new season
  • Location & the need for local business contacts
  • Identifying the very best passive sales talent

THE RESULT

  • A forward thinking individual was successfully hired, who brings a love of rugby and strong business contacts in the west Wales region
  • Our video profiling technology allowed The Scarlets to quickly screen a number of applicants for cultural fit & communication skills
  • The final interview stage provided three strong candidates, all very capable of fulfilling the role
  • After six consecutive wins at the start of the 2015/16 season, our candidate’s job might just be made a little easier
