BRENTFORD
When Brentford Football Club’s Chief Executive approached us with a range of jobs to fill and the stipulation that searches would need to be conducted in a short time frame, we were happy to rise to the challenge of helping the club find the very best talent. The roles ranged from Retail and Marketing Managers and Executives to a Training Ground Site Manager and each called not only for experience in a sporting environment, but a sharing of the club’s core values. So, no pressure!
There’s a perception that working in football is exciting. As a result, clubs sometimes receive 50 or 60 applications for each job advertised, so it was important that we cut through all of that to find the people that weren’t just in it for the ‘glamour’ of working in the game. Having listened to the client’s brief and taken on board exactly the type of people we were looking for and the culture of the organisation we set about mapping out the talent landscape for each role. In addition to ensuring we understood where relevant people might currently be working, we identified those already “at level”, as well as those at the right point to take an upward development step, before putting our list of suitable candidates forward.

"There was a pre-EISG Brentford and a post-EISG Brentford. It was really painful before you guys
came along!"
All four appointments were filled to the tight timescales the club demanded and a happy client told us that when Brentford move to their new stadium in 2017 there may well be many more job opportunities, and that they are confident the EISG team will be called upon to help them when they next recruit.
